5/12/2023 0 Comments Shades of Gray by Jackie Kessler![]() It's basically a setting with an origin like Wildcards but has a very idealistic and Silver Age morality (superheroes primarily rescue people and fight disasters and do charity work than fight villain) instead of Martin's grimdark. They follow Hope as she discovers she has the power of Superman and deciding what to do with that. There's also Wearing the Cape which is widely viewed as the best superhero novels out there. They're pretty close to being the Dresden Files of superhero novels. They're independent books but really popular for a very good reason: Jim Bernheimer is funny as hell in his writing. ![]() ![]() ![]() The Confessions of a D-List Supervillain novels (Confessions, Origins, and Secrets) are great as they follow Cal Stringel as he goes from being an Expy of the Beetle to becoming a superhero. ![]()
